Fun in the leaves

I just love this time of year with all the leaves changing colors and covering the streets. So last week I had the kids go over to the neighbors house who's lawn was completely covered in leaves; I had them play in it while I captures come great memories. Trick-or-Treat

This year we joined our neighbors for a little trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. There were over 10 kids and just as many adults walking around trick-or-treating. We all had so much fun watching the kids run door to door. Here are a few pictures from that night.

Vegas Baby

On Tuesday Chris and I flew to Vegas where we met up with Karen and Eric at the Palms. The guys took off and went to Sema Auto Show and Karen and I went shopping and had a much needed spa day at Spa Moulay in Loew's Lake Hotel. We also went to a few of our favorite spots; Pinks, Mon Ami Gabi, and the mall. We had such a wonderful time. Thanks guys for some great memories....looking forward to the next vacation!!

Annual Del Oso Pumpkin Farm Trip

After Lexi's field trip we drove to Lathrop for our family pumpkin day at Del Oso. We were running behind so we only let the kids shoot a few pumpkins from the air cannons. That by far is all of our favorite thing to do there. After we were done with the pumpkin throwing we took off to Kelli and Steve's home where we ate dinner and carved all our pumpkins. This year the kitty cat was a favorite along with Hello Kitty. Thanks guys for a great day with the family!!

Lexi's field trip to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm

On Friday Alexis's class also took a field trip to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm, but these kindergartners took a bus. This was Lexi's first school bus rider ever and she LOVED it!! It's all she talked about all day!! Here are few shots from that day.

On Thursday Gavin's class took a field trip the Bishop's Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland. When we first arrived Gavin was following a little girl named Abbey everywhere, but as soon as he saw Omily he was hooked. He and Omily did everything together. They held hands everywhere they went and sat next to each other as often as they could. So adorable!! What a fun day with my son!!

This week we had our first Halloween party for the Girl Scouts. We started the evening with Alexis leading the pledge of allegiance, then followed by carving pumpkins, and ended by decorating cupcakes!!! We all had so much fun!!

Daisys - Troop 1710

My wonderful girlfriend and I decided to start up a new Girl Scout troop for our daughters. We have been working long hours to get Troop 1710 off the ground and we finally did. Last week we had our first meeting and it went well!! The girls had so much fun, that many were asking, "when will we be doing this again?" That put a smile on both are faces!! Lexi's Walk-a-thon a school

Lexi had her first "walk-a-thon" at school. Each child had to raise money by every lap they walked. The monies went to help with supplies, field trips, and a pizza party at the end of the year. She had a blast and is loving kindergarten!!

Lexi's First Soccer Game

Girls Night Out

You know how I am with my coupons. Well I had this great coupon for Girlfriends, it was buy one makeover and get the second free. So Shelby and I took the girls for a date night. We started at Girlfriends, this super cute place where the girls get their nails painted, hair done and then get to take to take pictures on the stage. They both had so much fun picking out their own nail color, eyeshadow and lip gloss. Afterwards we took the girls to dinner! What a great girls night out!!

Helping Daddy

We have been so busy working on little things around the house and this was one of the many projects we had going on. Chris and Gavin were busy moving all the rock from the front of the the house to the backyard. He was a great little helper!! He used his little shovel and scooped up the rocks and would help Chris move them to the backyard. It was a very hard day, but Gavin sure did help Daddy!!

This year Lexi is in a soccer league with 11 other boys and girls in Roseville. We had our first practice and Lexi loved it! When she was done she came over yelling, "did you see me kick the ball? This is so fun!" I would say she likes it!!! We are looking forward to her first game!!

I love the way the kids look when they are fast asleep, so one of my favorite things to do is take pictures of it. They look so peaceful and it makes me want to grab my camera. This time I was the one sleeping and Chris grabbed the camera and got some good shots. The last two are of the kids sleeping in our bed. We had a special night one night when Chris was working over time and I let them both watch a movie in my bed. This is how they ended up!! I just love it!!

Camping With The Foxes!!

In the beginning of August we took our first camping trip with our Friends Christy and Rick and their two kids, Mackenzie and Logan. We took the 4 hour car ride to Memorial Park in Pescadero. They kids had a blast looking for banana slugs and walking the trails. The weather was perfect and the company was even better!! Thanks againf or the wonderf memories you guys!! Cannot wait till next year!

The State Fair

Yes we attempted to go to the State Fair once again, and every year I ask myself why do we go? It's so hot, there are way to many people and it cost a lot of money. The day we went it was well over 100 degrees, and we went on Tuesday so kids get into free. I guess we asked for it huh? After the kids went on a few rides, went to watch the motocross and monster trucks. Gavin and Alexis got to take a ride on the big monster truck and they had a smile ear to ear!! That in itself was worth the heat, the crowd and the money!! Good times for the Garcez Family!!

Gavin's 1st Soccer Practice

This year Gavin is finally old enough to enroll him into Roseville Sports, so this year we put him into soccer. Daddy and Gavin were partners and they would kick the ball back and forth to each other. He also learned how to stomp on the ball to get it to stop as well as team work! I think Gavin really liked it and is looking forward to doing it again!!

Trip to the Sac Zoo

Last month Cheryl, Chris, and I took the kids to the Sacramento zoo. Even though we went early to beat the heat, it still was a very hot day!! In all we last a little over an hour, but regardless how long we were there all the kids had fun running to each exhibit. The loved all the animals and would make the sounds of them as they walked by. I think their favorite part was after our picnic in the park, Uncle Chris chased the around until they were bright red!!

Swim Lessons

I am really behind updating our family's blog. A few weeks ago the kids had swim lessons for two straight weeks. Alexis was an alligator and Gavin was a duck. They both did extremely well and now Lexi is swimming without floaties and Gavin has graduated from his life vest to floaties. On the last day of swim lessons Grandma, Cole, and Cody joined us on the side lines as we watched the kids get suckers and their report cards.

Trip to the State Capitol

On Wednesday we went with playgroup to the State Capitol. It was one of the first trips for the kids to see our State Capitol. Not only was it educational for them, they even were able to see Daddy dressed as Chipper. Here's a few pictures from that day!!

Since it's been so hot lately we bought the kids a triple lane slip and slide to cool off with. It sounds like a good idea, however it didn't work that well. We had to pour baby oil all over it just to get the kids to slip down the slide. All in all the kids had a great time and I got some great shots from it!!

TIme for a cut

Last week I took the kids to get their hair cut. Not only was it well over due, but I had a buy one get one free hair cut coupon!! Score!! I took the kids to Jack and Jill Bean's, and the kids loved it. Each station had a different car for them to sit in while they got their locks cut! Lexi picked the firetruck and Gavin picked out the police car just like Daddy's. This was Lexi's second hair cut in her life, and she wanted to cut it to her shoulders. Chris and I were both not on board, so we compromised and told her she could cut half off now and then the other half later. (That's if she still wanted to!!) Here's a few pictures from that day!!

Last week when it reach well over 100 degrees, I decided to have the kids run through the sprinklers in the backyard. They had so much fun getting wet and I had more fun capturing the memories with my new camera! I just love that my new camera can get these action shots without being blurry!!! It's amazing and I am just loving what I captured on this hot day!! Gavin and Alexis both had fun making faces at the camera!! Gavin also enjoyed drinking the water right of the sprinkler.

4th of July Parties.....

The night before 4th of July we went to do a pre-celebration at Rick and Christy's home. They have two wonderful kids Logan (5) and Mackenzie (7), which play very well with out two kids. I met Christy through Lexi's class which; Logan and Alexis had the same teacher. Christy was an awesome bartender that night. She made this amazing and very pretty 4th of July drink! After we BBQ'd we drove to watch the local fireworks! It was a great night with great friends!! Thanks again for having us!!

That night we came home to Gavin throwing up all over the house. So we decided to have Chris stay home with Gavin on the 4th and Alexis and I attend Arron and Shelby's BBQ. Here are a few pictures from the 4th of July!! Thanks again guys for the invite!!

Lexi's Dance Recital at NCDC

Cheryl, Tom, Kelli and Kaylann all drove up on Thursday to watch Lexi in her first dance recital at NCDC. Alexis did a wonderful job dancing and it shows in her moves. Monster Jam Rocks

A few weeks ago we took the kids to the Roseville Fair Grounds to watch the Monster Jams trucks. It first started with the motor cross doing some awesome jumps and ended with the monster trucks. It was super hot so we cooled down with some yummy ice cream!! The kids had such a great time, they cannot wait to go again!!

In February we replaced the dirty 10 year old carpet with new 18" travertine tiles. They make the room more open and brightened the color of the walls. It turned out just wonderful, we couldn't be happier with the results. Here's a few before and after shots.

Today we had a wonderful time celebrating Father's Day!! The kids made Chris lots of wonderful gifts for his special day. We first made him a special shirt where he had the kids press their foot and hand prints onto the shirt, then they made special coffee cups and then decorated the house for Daddy!! He loved it all!! Thank you so much for being a wonderful father who is always there to lend a helping hand or get down on their level and play with them!! We love you very much!! Happy Father's Day Chris!!

Our 9 Year Anniversary

Over the weekend Chris and I went to Monterrey to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary!! We stayed at the beautiful Portola Inn and Spa in Monterrey and ate the delicious Jack's restaurant. We ended the night with a stroll down the peir then relaxed in the hot tub! The next morning we went to Carmel where we ate breakfast at Katy's, ehich by the way had the best crab eggs benedict we have ever had!! Then we walked hand in hand on the beach and ended and watched the waves crash in!! It was so relaxing and we loved it so much!! We are so happy and blessed to have been married for 9 years and have two beautiful children, Alexis and Gavin!! Thank you Cheryl for making this happen!! We love you!!

Lexi's First Lemonade Stand

Last weekend we went to Cheryl and Tom's house for a garage sale and Lexi wanted to have her first lemonade stand. She did such a great job selling her lemonade and cookies to all the customers who walked up to the garage sale. She would shout out saying, "fresh lemonade and cookies for sale!" Everyone loved it and she sold more than ten dollars. We are so proud of you, Alexis!!

For a week now Lexi has had a lose tooth and finally on Saturday night Lexi's tooth fell out. She was very excited to put it under her pillow and wait for the Tooth Fairy!! Last month or so we have been looking for a kitten for the family. Last week we came across this adorable white Ragdoll kitten on Craig's list. We simply couldn't resist and added this cutie pie to our family. As we were looking for cats Alexis had already named our future cat, Cupcake. Lexi's Horseback Riding Lessons

This year for Lexi's gift we wanted to surprise her with horseback riding lessons, which she has been asking us to do for sometime now. When we arrived she was so excited and couldn't believe she was going to ride a horse. Alexis did so well and listen to the instructor, she made us so proud. We thought it would be a good idea to have Chris do it with her, but once she got on the horse she didn't need any of our help. She did awesome and cannot wait to do it again! Gavin also did just as good trying to entertain himself for a whole hour while Daddy and Lexi rode their horses. Here are a few pictures from our day!!

Class of 2024

Today the future class of 2024 graduated preschool and will be entering kindergarten in the Fall of 2011. It rained today so we had to have this grand event at the club house at the Woodcreek Gold Course. All the kids were dressed adorable in their caps and gowns and they each walked across the stage to accept their diploma. It was very special to see all the things that the class has been working very hard toward. We cannot believe our first born will be going to kindergarten in the fall. We are so proud of Alexis!

Gifts for the teachers

I found this really neat idea on the Internet to make the teachers for all their hard work. The kids and I painted the pots and then I finished up painting the final coat with chalkboard paint. Then we all planted these pretty flowers in to each pot. What a really creative and fun project we did!!

On Sunday Kelli and Kaylann came up so that Kelli could run her first 5k with Chris. It was very special for them both. She did an amazing job and came in at 40:04 with only 8 weeks of training!! Way to go K!! You rocked it!! We are so proud of you!!

Lexi's Family Birthday Party

On Saturday we had our family up to celebrate Lexi's 5Th birthday. This year it was much small party from years past but just as fun! We cannot believe our baby is turning 5 already. Time sure does fly by and we are so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter! It's amazing to watch her grow from these last 5 years into a bright, caring young little girl!! Lexi's Slumber Party

On Friday we had a faux slumber party with 13 5 year old girls. They arrived in their pajamas and we started the night off with painting our nails, doing our make-up, making pillows and then having a pillow fight. We ended the night with watching Tangled!! This was by far Lexi's favorite birthday party! She not only dreamed up the idea, but also helped me make much of the decorations for the party!!

This year when planning for Lexi's 5th birthday pictures, she asked if she could wear a cowgirl hat. So her and I went shopping for the perfect hat and outfit. Alexis is so into cowgirls and horses right now that we thought it would be fun to do a whole cowgirl photo shoot. When we take pictures at Picture People we usually end up with only one or two good ones and that's it, but this time Lexi was shinning like a star and we ended up with all these amazing pictures of her. The photographer loved them so much, that she had us sign a release form for all the pictures....how exciting!!

For Mother's Day Chris and the kids bought me the camera I have always wanted. It was such a wonderful surprise!! I have been wanting this camera ever since Lexi was born!! Now I can get great pictures of the family for everyone to enjoy!!

Summer Time

On Friday Jen and Summer drove to hangout with us for a few days while Chris is in Vegas. We started our day off in the morning at the park next to Lexi's school where a local realtor was putting on an Easter event for the kids in the neighborhood. They all did an Easter egg hunt, face painting, custom balloons, pictures with the Easter bunny, to just about any activity you can think of for the kids. I think that everyone had a great time and we defiantly wore them out for nap time. It was a great time. Thanks Jen for driving up here to spend some much needed time with each other.

Run Rocklin 2011

On Sunday the whole family packed up and went to the Run Rocklin race. I ran in my first 5k and the kids ran a 1/4 mile for the first time. Chris and the kids waited for me to cross the finish line. I ran the 3.2 mile course in 32 minutes flat which I beat my time in my head of 35 minutes. We will run another race come summer. We are all looking forward to it!!

Weekend Getaway to Tahoe

Okay so it's been a pretty long time since our last post, but the whole family has been on and off sick and we took the plunge and finally put travertine tiles throughout the house except for the bedrooms. So after everyone got healthy and the floors were complete Chris and I decided to take a little trip to Tahoe. We decided to take the long way and go up I80 through Reno so we could stop at the Nugget and have their famous Awful Awful burger. It was one of our top 5 burgers of all time. Delicious!! Happy Valentine's Day

So finally the kids were healthy enough for use to take Valentine's pictures. It's really hard to

get both kids to cooperate and to be able to get one good picture. We were lucky enough to get both kids smiling and looking at the camera for the group shot, but when it was time for individuals Gavin wanted to nothing to do with it. So needless to say we only were able to get a solo shot of Lexi. Thanks G for making memories.

Well this year Alexis asked if she could make cake pops to pass out to her friends for Valentine's Day. She really does love baking and I think she got that from her Grandma Cheryl, who by the way is an excellent baker!! Lexi and I had so much fun making these together, we even pulled in Gavin and Chris to help. I think the turned our perfect and are oh so yummy too!!

Gavin's Surgery

Yesterday Chris and I took Gavin to Sutter Roseville to have his surgery. When we arrived at 6AM, we were treated very well and seems like we didn't wait very long to get processed. Shortly after we found our self in the pre-opp area where we changed Gavin into his robe and socks. The nurse then gave him some medication to relax him, and boy did it. It took no more than 5 minutes and Gavin was slurring his words and just laid in my arms. Here's a video we took, it's pretty funny!! His surgery went great and we were home by 9AM. Thank you Sutter Roseville for a wonderful experience!!

Monster Jam

On Sunday Chris took both kids to watch monster trucks at Arco Arena. They all three had a wonderful time watching the big trucks drive over the smashed cars and drive on two wheels. It was great memories for everyone!!

Christmas with Gigi, Bobo and Rosie

Gigi, Bobo, and their dog came to Cali for a month long vacation to visit all the family. Over the weekend they picked up Kaia and drove up to do a little Christmas with the kids. Over Christmas break the kids got cabin fever from all the rain we got and from us being sick!! So Chris and I grabbed a blanket and made a fort with Gavin's bed. They spent hours playing inside his room. I love times like these!!

On Christmas Eve Chris helped Gavin poor the milk and Alexis put the cookies on the plate for Santa. Thankfully both kids passed out and then even slept in Christmas morning. Christmas Eve at our home

On Christmas Eve we had all of Chris's family over to celebrate Christmas. Tom and Cheryl now have 5 grand kids and in order to keep that many kids busy we had lots of activities lined up for them. We first had them all make their own gingerbread house, then decorate cookies for Santa. Lastly we had them make Christmas ornaments. I think that the gingerbread houses and cookie were their favorite, since they were able to sneak a few bites of candy here and there.

On Thursday we traveled to Kelli and Steve's house to celebrate Christmas with Jerry and Cheri. They came all the way from Arkansas to spend Christmas with the family. On Saturday Chris and I took a trip to Oakland to watch my good friend of 23 years, marry her best friend Jason. It was a beautiful winter wedding with tons of snow flakes and snow everywhere. Just beautiful!! It was so good to see my friends from High School, many of which we are elementary school friends. Time sure does fly!! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Jason Silva!!

Cookie Party at Shebly's

On Friday I was invited to a cookie exchange party; where we each brought 6 dozen cookies, and had to create a display for our cookies. We had a contest for the best display and the best tasting cookie. Some people were very creative with their displays. I turned the oh so yummy cake pop into a cookie and called it the "OMG" cookie. This was such a hit that I won the best tasting cookie. I need to thank Cheryl for such a great idea!! Thank you!!

Disneyland with Grandma and Papa Llyod

The kids were so excited, they wanted to pack themselves into our suitcases for the trip. This was the first trip to Disneyland with Grandma and Papa Lloyd. We can't begin to thank Grandma and Papa enough for the wonderful time we had at Disneyland. From our breakfast with Goofy and the characters to the World of Color water show...it was a trip filled with fun and excitment. Lexi got to go on her favorite ride, Thunder Mountain Railroad, and she found a new favorite...The Matterhorn! If he could, Gavin would ride Pirates of the Carribbean all day and night, he is our little Swashbuckler!

Thanksgiving at the Llyod's home

This year the whole family got together and celebrated Thanksgiving at Tom and Cheryl's home in Valley Springs. They made a beautiful spread for dinner and it was delicious. All the kids had a great time getting together and playing. We all had a great time and made wonderful memories.

Lexi's Thanksgiving Feast

Last week Lexi's class celebrated Thanksgiving with a wonderful potluck lunch. Everyone brought something yummy to share. They had fun telling the class what they were thankful for. Lexi said she was thankful for the trees....oh so sweet she is!! The class had fun bobbing for apples and pinning the hat on the turkey. Gavin also thinks he's is apart of Lexi's class...so innocent he is!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Secret Sister Gift

Every month I give my Secret Sister, which is always another wife who is married to a Highway Patrolmen, a gift. Usually I just find something off the Internet and have it shipped to her, but this month my MIL inspired me to make her a wreath. So Lexi and I had a great time making my SS this beautiful Christmas wreath for her. I hope she likes it as much as we do.

Gavin thinks he's a big boy

The last few days Gavin feels like he's too big for naps these days, but clearly he's not. On the days he doesn't nap this is where we find him after dinner....sleeping!! Thankfully I don't let him skip naps much!! 6:00 is just a little too early for bedtime!!

Night Night Big Boy

On Monday we thought it was time to transform Gavin's crib into a toddler bed. So that's exactly what we did and boy was he thrilled. After Chris was done with it, Gavin jumped right it in and laid right down! Well Gavin we cannot believe how fast you are growing up, and you make us proud each and everyday!! We love you G!!
