In February we replaced the dirty 10 year old carpet with new 18" travertine tiles. They make the room more open and brightened the color of the walls. It turned out just wonderful, we couldn't be happier with the results. Here's a few before and after shots.

it did open your space and I bet its so much easier to keep clean with the kids and Chris LOL. Beautiful choice in color and style..of course :)
